Does God Exist?

I happen to be Agnostic and I love a good, rational discussion.
I also am completely in love with learning about all religions and cultures.
I would love to hear from some of my followers and would love for them to participate. I will present two rational arguments: one for God’s existence, and one against it. There are, of course, plenty of rational arguments against each of these arguments. I would love for people to throw in what they think, and even play devil’s advocate and chime in where ever you see a flaw in an argument, on either side. I’m not looking for an answer, of course, just to see other’s view points and perhaps gain a deeper understanding of this topic. Please keep all responses and arguments rational. For example, please don’t say that God exists because the Bible says so. Also, please be respectful of everyone’s beliefs and opinions. Lastly, please either reply or reblog with any response you may have. Thank you. (:

First argument: FOR GOD’S EXISTENCE
St. Anselm came up with a rational argument in form of a sort of syllogism.
In short, his argument went a little something like this:

P.1: God is the greatest conceivable being. (Even if you’re Atheist, you have to admit that if God existed, he would be perfect and the greatest thing)
P.2: It is greater to exist than to not exist.
=Therefore, God exists.

Second Argument: AGAINST GOD’S EXISTENCE
A empiricist by the name of David Hume said that there are four qualities a being must have in order to be perfect and to be the greatest conceivable being of a God. In order to be perfect, one must be:
Omniscient (all knowing)
Omnipresent (everywhere all the time)
Omnipotent (all powerful)
Omnibenevolent (all good)

His argument against Anselm’s basically says:
Evil exists. If God exists, he must be aware of the evil. If he doesn’t do anything about it, he is not all of the things above, which would make him not perfect. If he isn’t perfect, he is not God.

Okay, those are the two arguments. There are a plethora of arguments for and against each of these arguments and I’d love to here what you guys have to say. Let’s have an ongoing, rational, respectful discussion.
